Fancy Knotwork

A cowl vent on the main deck of BALCLUTHA increases air circulation below decks. Deckhand Ali Maheu fashioned this bit of netting across the opening. It is another example of Ali's fancywork, sophisticated knotwork, that serves a utilitarian purpose.
