Almost 60% of park visitors are over 45 years of age; 85% of visitor groups have at least one member from out of town; 8% are international visitors; 44% are from Texas.

Hours of Operation:

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. year round; closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day.

Operating Budget:

$3.2 million federal appropriation. Approximately $1 million in fiscal year 2007 for special projects from the National Park Service, Los Compadres (the park friends group), and Western National Parks Association (the cooperating association)

Land Acquisition:

Total acreage – 819, approximately 623 in public ownership.
