National Park Service and the City of Richmond Named Finalist in KaBOOM!
(Richmond, CA) – Earlier this month, the National Park Service and the City of Richmond were selected as finalists in the Play Everywhere Challenge, a $1 million national competition that will award outside-the-box ideas to make play easy, available, and fun for kids and families in cities across the United States. The Challenge is hosted by KaBOOM!—a national non-profit dedicated to bringing balanced and active play into the daily lives of all children, particularly those growing up in poverty in America.

Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front National Historical Park welcomes 4th Grade Students through Every Kid in a Park Initiative
Richmond, CA – Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park invites all 4th grade students to visit the park as part of the White House’s new Every Kid in a Park program. Starting September 1, 2015, 4th grade students can go to to complete an activity and obtain a free annual entry pass to more than 2,000 federal recreation areas, including national parks.
