Earlier this week, local weather forecast predicted thunderstorms and heavy rain for the Cold Harbor battlefield area. The expected inclement weather could have threatened the safety of staff moving equipment for the event, traveling and camping reenactors, and park visitors. To ensure the safety of all participants, visitors, and staff, park management decided to shorten the schedule of events offered on Saturday, June 7 and to cancel the activities scheduled for Sunday, June 8.

The updated schedule for this weekend at Cold Harbor is as follows:
SATURDAY, JUNE 7
-9:00 Visitor Center opens
-9:30 Cannon Demonstration
-10:00 Ranger-led Tour: "Surviving Cold Harbor"
-12:00 Cannon Demonstration
-2:00 Daily Ranger talk at Visitor Center
-4:30 Visitor Center closes

Please note, there will be no living history or historic weapons demonstrations on SUNDAY, JUNE 8.
The Cold Harbor visitor center will be open during normal hours, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., and a guided tour of the battlefield will be offered, weather permitting, at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
