With their splashes of color and cheerful songs, birds add enjoyment to our world. But, beyond their beauty, birds are critical components of our ecosystems. 2018 marks the Year of Bird, a celebration of birds and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. To celebrate the Year of the Bird and the amazing birds of Glacier's alpine areas, the Crown of the Continent Research Learning Center is hosting an Alpine Bird BioBlitz.

The Alpine Bird BioBlitz is a one-day event held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at desginated locations within the park. Participants should expect a full day of hiking and birding over steep and rugged terrain. Birding experience is preferred. Binoculars are required.

This is a great opportunity to work alongside expert birders to document and learn about Glacier's alpine bird species, some of which are species of concern. Reservations are requried. To learn more and to reserve a spot, visit our Alpine Bird BioBlitz registration form.

And, check out the Crown of the Continent Research Learning Center's events pages to find out about other opportunities.
