Description

Join National Parks of Boston and Boston Public Library to learn about the Black musical culture in Boston. From flautist Barzallai Lew to jazz artist Johnny Hodges, Boston’s Black musical culture uplifts the city’s iconic historical influence across the nation. Often overlooked in comparison to influential cities such as New York City and New Orleans, Boston is home to generations of musical identity. Exploring various time periods, we will connect with Black musical figures within the Greater Boston area.

This online program, co-presented by The National Park Service, will happen over Zoom webinar. We kindly request that people who are interested in attending please see the REGISTRATION REQUIRED box on this page for more information
