Debbie Davis is a New Orleans institution, a songstress, ukulele master, and entertainer who has performed with an impressive roster of local music royalty: John Boutte, Paul Sanchez, The Pfister Sisters, the New Orleans Nightcrawlers, Tom McDermott, Alex McMurray, and the Dukes of Dixieland, just to name a few. The New Jersey native, daughter of two professional opera singers, was genetically disposed to a career in musical entertainment, and she did not disappoint, singing in several rock and jazz bands while still in high school. In addition to becoming a staple on the local club scene, she has performed around the world, including at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and has partnered with Broadway star Michael Cerveris and Hollywood all-star Harry Shearer on several projects. She was also an integral part of “Nine Lives – The Musical,” and appeared as herself on the HBO series “Treme.”
Josh Paxton studied piano with Ellis Marsalis, and the keyboard master’s style is a combination of New Orleans' deep piano traditions inflected with modern jazz twists, classical technique, and a funky rhythmic drive. He’s toured with a wide range of artists ranging from Bruce Hornsby to the Wild Magnolias, and currently can be found with a number of top bands, including chanteuse Debbie Davis, with Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes, and bouzouki maven Beth Patterson in the ZouKeys. He is an expert on James Booker, and a staple at WWOZ Piano Night.
