present a

Jazz Piano Hour

featuring

Matt Lemmler

Saturday at 2:00 pm

At the National Park Service French Quarter Visitor Center

419 Decatur St, New Orleans

This program is free and open to the public.

Matt Lemmler was raised just blocks from Fats Domino’s home, and the pianist, composer, and arranger seems to have absorbed some of that genius’s creativity and drive as well as the influences of his musical family. After earning a master’s from the Manhattan School of Music (with his compositions debuting at Carnegie Hall), Lemmler toured Europe with “The Phantom of the Opera” before settling back in New Orleans, playing routinely with Pete Fountain, Bob French and the Original Tuxedo Jazz Band, and many others, including arranging and conducting French pop star Dany Brilliant’s platinum record, “A La Nouvelle Orleans” and “Histoire d’Un Amour.” After a post-Katrina stint in Houston, Lemmler returned to New Orleans, and now leads the New Orleans Jazz Revival Band in performance and educational programs.
