Description

Dr. Kara Olidge, executive director of New Orleans' Amistad Research Center at Tulane University, discusses New Orleans as a frontier for legal battles and protests and fueled the civil rights movement. On the front lines were civil rights attorney A.P. Tureaud and the NAACP (the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), fighting for equality in education from post-World War II to the student protests of the 1960s.
