Description

Join the National Park Service for the 2022 Frederick Douglass Oratorical Contest. Annually, the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site hosts an oratorical contest for students 6-18 years old, where they perform a part of a Frederick Douglass speech that they learn from memory before a panel of judges.

This year's competition for students to test their public speaking skills will offer both a virtual contest and an in-person option. Students can apply beginning October 7th to November 14th at: Oratorical Contest Guidelines - Frederick Douglass National Historic Site (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov).

The Virtual Contest will take place on Microsoft Teams. Once students are notified of their acceptance in the contest, they will be sent the date and time, as well as a link to sign-in and deliver their speech.
