Freddie Williams Evans highlights the history of Congo Square, an early gathering place forĀ African and African American people of New Orleans. Her multi-media presentation will cover the influence of Congo Square on popular culture in New Orleans, the United States, and the world through primary documents, audio and visual clips, and musical instruments like those played in Congo Square in the 1800s.
