Description
National Junior Ranger Day is always a fun part of National Park Week. Kids (and adults) of all ages are invited to become a Junior Ranger during the national day and any day of the year!
Special Junior Ranger Day Programs
Dickey Ridge Visitor Center (mile 4.6)
“Ranger Talk” (11:00 a.m.) – Join a ranger to learn about Shenandoah National Park in this short, family-friendly talk. 20 minutes
"Junior Ranger Touch Table" (12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.) – Hands-on, interactive displays. Dickey Ridge Visitor Center. Outside if weather permits, inside if the weather is adverse.
Byrd Visitor Center (mile 51)
“Ranger Talk” (11:30 a.m.) – Join a ranger to learn about Shenandoah National Park in this short, family-friendly talk. Meet on the patio in front of the visitor center. 20 minutes

“Junior Ranger Patio Program” (2:30 p.m.) – Special Junior Ranger kid-friendly program. Meet on the patio in front of the visitor center. 20 minutes. 30-45 minutes
“Bells & Whistles” (10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) – A Park fire engine and ambulance will be on display in the Byrd Visitor Center parking lot for all to enjoy!
"Junior Ranger Touch Table" (10:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.) – Furs, skulls, and other cool stuff to interact with!
