Description
Yoga in the Park Returns to Pullman
The National Park Service will offer free yoga classes at Pullman National Historical Park and State Historic Site, beginning Saturday, July 20. Classes will be held weekly on the northeast lawn of the historic factory site at 610 East 111th Street, beginning at 10AM each Saturday morning from July 20th through September 7th.
Professional instruction will be provided by African Lotus Wellness, a local Black woman-owned business. No experience is necessary. Please arrive ten minutes early to ensure class can begin promptly at 10AM, and bring a yoga mat or towel and drinking water. The National Park Service is pleased to partner with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Historic Pullman Foundation, the City of Chicago's Community Safety Coordination Center, and the Block House Gallery to resume this popular program.
Yoga in the Park supports the National Park Service Healthy Parks/Healthy People initiative - a global movement that harnesses the power of parks and public lands as a health resource. Healthy Parks/Healthy People works to advance the fact that all parks – both urban and wildland – are cornerstones of people's physical, mental, and spiritual health, social wellbeing, and sustainability of the planet. Additional information about Healthy Parks/Healthy People can be found online at https://www.nps.gov/subjects/healthandsafety/healthy-parks-healthy-people.htm.
