Description
Members of the Blackfeet Nation and the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes share personal knowledge of their history and culture as part of the Native America Speaks program.
This program began in 1982 and is the longest running Indigenous speaker series in the National Park Service. Native America Speaks is made possible by donations to the Glacier National Park Conservancy.
Treyace Yellow Owl is an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Tribe. She was born and raised in Browning. From the age of 5 she attended a Blackfeet Language Immersion School and is fluent in her native language. Treyace has extensive knowledge in the history and language of the Blackfeet People. She is involved in this program to spread positive, accurate, and dependable knowledge of her people.
This event takes place at the Museum of the Plains Indian in the neighboring community of Browning, MT.
