Jazz Program in honor of Sail 250

featuring the 

Navy Band Southeast 

Friday at 1:00 pm 

At the National Park Service French Quarter Visitor Center

Since its establishment in 1995, Navy Band Southeast has been dedicated to providing top quality musical support throughout the Southeastern United States for Commander, Navy Region Southeast. Under the direction of Lieutenant Junior Grade Matthew Stuver, the band is located onboard Naval Air Station Jacksonville and serves the military and civilian communities.

The 45-member organization is comprised of professional musicians committed to the highest level of performance, each performing in various ensembles including ceremonial and parade bands, wind ensemble, the New Orleans style Deckplate Brass Band, the VIP jazz combo, the popular music group Pride, the Windward Brass Quintet and the Fairwinds Woodwind Quintet. Performing more than 350 engagements per year, these musical ambassadors inspire pride and patriotism for military ceremonies, public concerts, parades, school clinics and much more.

New Orleans will be the first stop as America welcomes the tall ships of the world to the Port of New Orleans for a nationwide celebration of America's 250th anniversary! Between May 28 and June 1, 2026, we will celebrate America's Semiquincentennial with the largest-ever flotilla of tall ships from around the world creating a majestic nautical spectacle along the historic Mississippi River. Along with the majestic tall ships flotilla, a diverse array of events, festivities and celebrations will be held across the entire region to educate, entertain and engage audiences from across the country and across all communities.
