NOLA Contemporary is a jazz group based in New Orleans, headed by Saskia Walker (vocals), Chris Coreil (piano), Jacob Hubbs (bass), Rudi Neubrander (drums), and Zahria Sims (saxophone). They play the musical styles that come from the New Orleans tradition of the 60s and beyond, such as Allen Toussaint and Ellis Marsalis to name a few. All the members have traveled from near and far, Baton Rouge to Rome, to reach the musical mecca that is New Orleans.

Vocalist Saskia Walker moved to New Orleans in 2019 from her home town of Rome, Italy, to explore its vibrant musical landscape. She has since worked with many notable musicians in recording studios like Esplanade Studios, and live performances at the Spotted Cat, the Maple Leaf and more, including her current residency at d.b.a. on Frenchman Street every Saturday afternoon.

This program is free and open to the public.
