Description
New Orleans JAZZ NHP’sSong o’ the Day:
“Run Fish Run”
Today, June 29th, is Olympic National Park’s birthday. It was established as an NP back in 1938, but the Park’s website has a timeline for happenings in their region going back 14,000 years! Wow, that kind of puts N.O. JAZZ and Jean Lafitte NPs at the kiddie table, historically speaking. Even the Barataria Preserve, with all the meaning & miscreants associated with that place, wasn’t yet solid land until a few thousand years ago (and, by some accounts, won’t be for much longer)!
Ranger Jeff wrote today’s song in celebration of ONP’s annually anticipated running of the salmon. It’s kind of like our Red Dress Run, only the Olympic fish get some other color options… and nobody is expected to eat our New Orleans runners on their way through the French Quarter.
