Mansion Open House

The first floor of the Mansion is available for public viewing during the visitor season (Memorial Day Weekend-October 31) on Saturdays and Sundays, 12:30pm-2:30pm.

A ranger will be stationed outside the Mansion providing introductory talks and assign entry times. There will also be a ranger inside to answer any questions you may have. Visitors enter through the front of the home and exit through the back into the garden. Six people may enter the home at a time. No reservations are required, but we recommend you arrive early to secure your spot as lines can form quickly.

This experience provides visitors an opportunity to see inside the historic home if they are not able to spend an hour with a ranger or book a tour in advance.

Parking for Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park is located at Billings Farm & Museum, 69 Old River Road, Woodstock, VT 05091. After parking, walk towards the Billings Farm & Museum and take the concrete path to the right of the Visitor Center. Walk up the path, cross Elm St using the cross walk, and take the left fork in the road to walk up a short, steep hill towards the Carriage Barn Visitor Center. A small accessible parking area is available behind the mansion for visitors who cannot walk up the short, steep hill.

Schedule

Arrive at the mansion porch at time between 12:30-2:30. There may be a short wait before entering the home. 6 visitors are able to enter at one time. Each group spends approximately 5 minutes inside the first floor before exiting out the back into the garden.
