Description
Due to weather -- this event, previously scheduled for Friday, Feb 10, has been cancelled.
Join Cape Lookout National Seashore staff and members of the Crystal Coast Stargazers at the Harkers Island Visitor Center (1800 Island Drive, Harkers Island, NC) for a night devoted to the beautiful dark skies in the park!
NASA Solar System Ambassador, Brandon Porter will provide a brief guided sky tour of the celestial objects in the night sky, followed by stargazing through club members’ telescopes.
Flashlights should have a red lens to protect your night vision.
Telescopes will be set up on the lawn for viewing. Have a telescope? Bring it along and join us.
Bring your own folding chair or a beach blanket/towel to use on the grass. Be sure to dress for the weather!
This event is kid-friendly but we kindly request no pets. Stargazing is weather dependent. Please monitor the weather and/or call 252-728-2250 to confirm event status.
