The Point Reyes Station Village Association, Marin County Supervisor Dennis Rodoni, and Point Reyes National Seashore hope you'll join us for a Dark Sky Point Reyes presentation at the Dance Palace in Point Reyes Station at 6 pm on Wednesday, April 19!
It's been two years since we embarked on a Dark Sky initiative to bring the Point Reyes National Seashore together with the surrounding villages to apply for an International Dark Sky Reserve designation. Don Jolley's monthly stargazing classes have been a wonderful success in getting the word out about why Dark Sky is important and why we should stay in touch with the universe. He plans to talk on April 19 about "The Ground Overhead and the Stars Underfoot."
Other speakers include Point Reyes National Seashore Public Information Officer Christine Beekman, Supervisor Dennis Rodoni, Laura Arndt, and Peggy Day. There will be an introductory Dark Sky video from the International Dark-Sky Association, samples of dark sky-friendly light fixtures, and several informational tables. Light refreshments will be provided courtesy of local donors.
