Cedar Creek & Belle Grove National Historical Park

Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park (CEBE) is offering a Monuments & Memory ranger-led driving tour on Saturday, August 31. This 1.5-hour tour will begin at 2:00 pm. Meet at the Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation Museum & Visitor Center, 8437 Valley Pike, Middletown, Va. The group will follow the park ranger’s car and caravan from stop-to-stop.

 

How can a monument affect the way we think about a place? Explore the legacy and memorialization of the Civil War through the various monuments that stand as symbols of stone on the Cedar Creek Battlefield. Stops may include the Morning Attack Trails with an optional short walk to the 8th Vermont Monument, the 128th New York Monument, Gen. Stephen D. Ramseur Monument, and the 1926 battlefield tablet adjacent to the Valley Pike.

 

This tour is free and open to the public. Bring water, sunscreen, and comfortable footwear.
