Baby Galvez was once the site of a resort named after the city of Galveston. People came here to swim, picnic, and dance in a pavilion on a hill overlooking the creek. There were even bathhouses for changing into swimsuits.

Today, Baby Galvez is best known for its paved boat ramp providing access to Village Creek. This launch is one of several on the Village Creek Paddling Trail. From here, it is just over 7 miles downstream to the next boat ramp, near Lumberton on US 96.
