The Hike
This is the northernmost trailhead for the Turkey Creek Trail. Start here and head south to experience the backcountry of the Turkey Creek Unit.
The entire Turkey Creek Trail is 17 miles long, from FM 1943 to FM 420. Shorter hikes are possible along the route, as the Turkey Creek Trail crosses a few roads and trails along the way.

This trailhead is located 3.5 miles east of Warren on FM 1943.
The Turkey Creek Trail can be accessed via these other trailheads as well: Pitcher Plant Trail, County Road 4825, Gore Store Road, and Kirby Nature Trail.
Accessibility
The trail surface is hard-packed soil with uneven surfaces, tree roots, and muddy sections.
