Goat Hill is a high point overlooking Raton. It encompasses a 10 mile portion of the Mountain Route of the Santa Fe Trail from its descent from 7,834' high Raton Pass through Raton, swinging southwest past 7,533' high Red River Peak, a Santa Fe Trail landmark. You will also get a glimpse of 6,930' high Wagon Mound, a Santa Fe Trail landmark on the Cimarron Route, more than 60 miles south.
