Overview

For your safety, please view all waterfalls from the designated viewing area, slick rocks have led to injuries. 

During times of heavy rain, numerous little cascades make up this waterfall located along Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. This roadside waterfall can be easily seen from the comfort of your vehicle or at a nearby pull-out. 

How to Get There

This waterfall is located along Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, which is closed seasonally, please check the seasonal road status before visiting. 

From Gatlinburg:  

  1. Travel onto Airport Road at stoplight #8 in downtown Gatlinburg. If headed south, turn left at this traffic light; if headed north, turn right at this traffic light.  

  1. Continue straight. You will hit a four-way intersection; keep straight. Soon after, you will enter the Cherokee Orchard Road entrance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  

  1. After you pass Rainbow Falls, you will see the sign for Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail on your right. Continue onto this roadway. Please note: this 5.5 mile one-way road is popular and, depending on traffic, could take hours to navigate.  

  1. Along the roadway, you will notice small brown and white numbered signs. Place of a Thousand Drips is located toward the end of this roadway at stop #15.
