Historic home of Nez Perce missionaries
OPEN TO PUBLIC:
No
MANAGED BY:

Kate and Sue McBeth were missionary teachers to the Nez Perce during the last quarter of the 19th century. Sue arrived in Lapwai in 1873 and her sister followed in 1879. The McBeth sisters built on Henry Spalding’s work and continued to strengthen the Presbyterian Church, vigorously enforcing church doctrine and stamping out traditional practices. The house they lived and worked out of is still standing.

The McBeth house is located on private property and is not currently open to the public. Out of respect for the land owners, we do not provide directions to this site.
