Picnicking is available at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park in this designated picnic area adjacent to the Visitor Center parking lot. Its location by the parking lot provides ample parking for vehicles and buses.

The picnic area includes 14 tables in a mostly shaded area. Restroom facilities are available at the Visitor Center plaza.

  • Picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Please remember to clean your area, including the ground area the table, after each use.
  • Remember to follow the park’s trash-free rules: please be prepared to dispose of your trash and recycling properly by carrying it out of the park when you leave.
  • No alcohol or fires of any kind are allowed in the park.

Accessibility

Each picnic table sits on a concrete pad next to a paved sidewalk. Three of the tables have paved paths connecting to the sidewalk, larger concrete pads, and overhangs at the ends of the tables to better accommodate visitors using wheelchairs.
