History

Built by Charles Hamilton in 1929, the concrete outer walls of the building were designed to resemble wood. This store was also known as the Basin Auto Camp store, because it served hundreds of campers. The store sits higher on the terrain of the Upper Geyser Basin than Hamilton’s first store and gas station in the area.
