Perched alongside the Merced River in the middle of Yosemite Valley, the camp features three-sided concrete structures with canvas roofs and privacy curtains. Nearby sandy beaches are perfect for relaxing in the sun by the river. From Housekeeping Camp, you'll have unmatched views of Yosemite Falls and Half Dome as you prepare your dinner on your campfire ring's grill. Enjoy your meal on your covered patio as you take in the sights and sounds of Yosemite.

At Housekeeping Camp you'll find a camp store, laundry room, shower facility, and the free shuttle bus, which will take you throughout Yosemite Valley. Guests can rent sheets, blankets, pillows, chairs, cribs, cots and stoves for their stay at Housekeeping Camp. Here is a map of the property.

Rules & Regulations

  • Smoking is strictly prohibited at all accommodations and buildings in Yosemite.

  • There are no pets allowed on property.

  • Bear-proof food lockers must be used to store all scented items. This includes all food, drinks, coolers, toiletries, and trash.

Food Storage Guidelines:

  • Treat your food locker like a refrigerator-never leave it open.

  • Place food inside resealable containers and store the containers in the food lockers.

  • Ensure your food locker is fully closed and latched, even when padlocked.

  • When you leave, empty your food locker.

  • Failure to comply with food storage policies may result in a $5000 fine and/or your removal from the camp.

  • Cars used for food storage may be impounded.

Hazards & Warnings

You may store food inside your car (out of sight, with windows completely closed) only during daylight hours. Empty your car of all food, drinks, coolers, toiletries, and trash after dark. Even an empty candy bar wrapper is enough temptation to entice a bear to break into your car.

Accessibility

All lodging facilities in the park meet accessibility requirements. Select lodging units within Housekeeping Camp are accessible, with a nearby accessible restroom. Designated accessible parking spaces are available. The laundry, shower, and grocery store facilities are all accessible.
