Monument Visitor Center Closed For Federal Holidays

Pipestone, MN: Superintendent Glen H. Livermont announced that, due to the upcoming federal holidays, the Pipestone National Monument Visitor Center and the Pipestone Indian Shrine Association gift shop, located at the Visitor Center, will be closed on December 25th, 2016 and again on January 1st, 2017. Following each federal holiday, the Visitor Center and gift shop will resume normal winter hours, every day of the week, including Saturday and Sunday.

The Monument’s Circle Trail will be open for anyone wishing to spend the afternoon enjoying a walk on the trail. The winter seasons offer many photographic opportunities of the prairie and wildlife. During this quiet time of the year, walking the Circle Trail, with family and friends can be particularly enjoyable and peaceful.

The Visitor Center’s normal winter hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the week, including Saturday and Sunday. The Monument Staff wish everyone a happy holiday season and remind our visitors to dress warmly and be especially careful, while walking the Circle Trail, during this time of year.
