Holiday Hours for Pipestone National Monument
(Pipestone, MN) Today Superintendent Glen Livermont announced, "Due to the upcoming federal holidays, the Monument Visitor Center will be closed on December 25th, 2011 and January 1st, 2012. This will give staff time to spend the days with family and friends. While the visitor center will be closed, the Circle Trail will remain open for those wanting to walk the trails."
Superintendent Livermont encourages, "Everyone to visit the Pipestone National Monument during the holidays, to provide an opportunity for family and friends to visit the Visitor Center and its exhibits. The Monument Visitor Center is open daily from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Admission to the park is $3.00 per person and children under the age of 16 years are free"
The gift shop at the visitor center is operated by the Pipestone Indian Shrine Association and is open the same hours as the Monument Visitor Center. If you are visiting only the gift shop, please let the Park Ranger know and the entrance fee will be waived.
Everyone is encouraged to come out and walk the trail or watch the wildlife, and take advantage of the many numerous winter photo opportunities. Don't forget to wear warm clothing and boots, if you decide to take the Circle Trail walk.
