The following is from the 2004 National Park Service study Patriots of Color researched and prepared by George Quintal:
Nothing is known of Peter’s early life.I
He served at Battle Road in the company of Capt. Thomas White, in Col. William Heath's regiment. On the roll he is listed as “Esq White’s Peter.”II
This man is probably the same man listed as ‘Peter White’ who served in the Continental Army from Brookline in 1777.III
