The 5th grade class from LeNoir Elementary School from Donna, TX came in for a field trip today. During their time here they got to experience what an American soldier's life was like through an interactive living history camp.

In addition, they got to take part in an open discussion on what the importance of preserving Palo Alto Battlefield is, which one very wise 5th grader answered, "if we don't save places like this we won't learn from the past." This young boy's answer is indicative of how the National Park Service educates America's youth, in order to keep moving forward for the next 100 years.
