PART 1 – General Provisions

Section 1.5(a)(1) Closures and Public Use Limits:

Ozark National Scenic Riverways has experienced a slope slide damage to the Tram Road (NPS Road 123) near Van Buren, Mo. The area is approximately 7.5 miles south of Van Buren and 1.3 miles north of Chilton. The road is impassable and require significant repairs before usable again. The road will be reopened when repairs are made.

In addition, the public will be notified through a press release and the closure will be posted on the park’s website and Facebook page.

Determination:

Due to heavy rainfall and saturated soil the roadbed and adjacent bank have collapsed and are very unstable. The objective of this closure is to protect the public and allow for crews to assess and repair the damaged roadway.
