OZARK NATIONAL SCENIC RIVERWAYS CLOSURE ORDER: 36 CFR 1.5

Designations, Closures, Permit Requirements and other Restrictions Imposed Under the Discretionary Authority of the Superintendent in accordance with Title 36, Code of Federal Regulations, Chapter 1.

AUTHORITY

Under the authority of 16 U.S.C. Section 3, and Title 36, Code of Federal Regulations, Chapter 1, Parts 1-7, this Compendium of Superintendent’s Orders is established for Ozark National Scenic Riverways. Regulations listed in this compendium are a requirement in addition to those listed in Parts 1-7 of Title 36 unless otherwise noted. The specific authority for this regulatory procedure is found in Sections 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7 of Title 36.

PART 1 – General Provisions

Section 1.5(a)(1) Closures and Public Use Limits:

Effective immediately, the Pulltite Cabin area will be closed to the public. That area is defined as a 100’ perimeter extending in all directions around the Pulltite Cabin.

Closure of the area is deemed necessary as a large tree has fallen on the structure causing significant structural damage. The area will be closed until park staff can remove the tree, conduct a structural conditional assessment of the cabin, any undertake any necessary stabilization. The park will notify the public when the closure is lifted.

DETERMINATION

For the protection of the public and NPS staff an area around the Pulltite Cabin consisting of a 100’ perimeter in all directions is enacted. This will
