Oxon Cove Park & Oxon Hill Farm welcomes all individuals with a disability! Most of roads and paths at Oxon Hill Farm are gravel or dirt, which may be difficult to navigate with a wheelchair or mobility device. If you have questions, please call us at 771-208-1536.

Restrooms

  • Located just south of the visitor center in a separate building (to the left if you a facing the visitor center).
  • Split by gender, each restroom has one larger stall intended for wheelchair users.
  • The path to the restrooms goes from gravel to concrete with a running slope of 10-14%.

Oxon Hill Farm Visitor Barn Bookstore

The Visitor Barn Bookstore is located in between the windmill and bathroom facilities.

Parking

  • 4 accessible spaces
  • 70 standard spaces
  • 3 bus/van spaces

Path from Parking to Visitor Center

  • There are two paths to the farm and visitor center; a gravel road to the left and a dirt road to the right.
  • Both roads are susceptible to washouts from rain, which causes the roads to be uneven, have divots, and sometimes standing water. The dirt road tends to be more uneven than the gravel road.
  • The gravel road is 1,107 feet long and 15 feet wide.
  • The dirt road is 1,100 feet long.

Entrance

  • The path leading to the bookstore is gravel and has a running slope of 10-14%.
  • The entrance door is 35.5 inches wide. The door is manual.
  • There is room to navigate around the visitor center with a wheelchair or mobility device.

Information Desk

  • The information desk is about is 4 feet from the entry door. The desk is approximately 2 feet tall.
  • There are audio guided tours available through the NPS phone app.

Braille

You can download the braille ready file (.brf) of our brochure to print at home or pick a copy of the braille brochure from the information desk.

Quiet Spaces

The whole farm is generally quiet, the visitor center is quiet based upon visitors. Visitors may hear animals sounds when exploring the park.

Water Fountain

There are two water fountains in the visitor center.
