February-March IPM Webinars – Aquatic Invasive Species, Pesticides, and Pollinators

The NPS Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program regularly hosts webinars on a variety of IPM and invasive species related topics which are open to anyone. On February 24^th, NPS IPM Program will be hosting a webinar on Ballast Water Transport and Treatment of Aquatic Invasive Species. This webinar will be presented by Dr. Brennan Kessenich, one of the NPS Scientist-in-Parks, in which he will cover how ballast water is used, examples of aquatic invasive species transported by ballast water, current treatment technology, and the state of ballast water regulations.

On March 3^rd, Sharon Selvaggio from the Xerces Society will be presenting "Pesticides & Pollinators - Understanding the Risk, a webinar on pesticides, how they impact ecosystems, and how to understand and assess the risks associated their use.
