Full Summer Operations begin May 23

The Alaska Public Lands Information Center in Anchorage will trim its hours of operation during the first three weeks of May to allow for summer staff training and accommodate other needs.

Between May 4 and May 17, the Center will be open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will be closed Saturday through Tuesday. The Center will open for scheduled school groups on days that it is closed to walk-in visitation. The Center will be closed for seasonal training from May 18 to May 22.

Beginning Saturday, May 23, the start of the Memorial Day Weekend, the Center will resume full, seven day per week operations.

The Center is located on 4th Avenue at F Street. Operated by the National Park Service, the Center provides information from Alaska's state and federal land managers. About 60,000 people per year use the facility, including its walking tours of downtown Anchorage. In addition to information about visiting public lands in Alaska, the Center hosts movies and speakers, and sells state and federal land use passes. Further information on the Center is available at www.alaskacenters.gov or by calling 644-3661.
