National Park Service Planning and Special Studies office to represent water interests in national planning activities. Water Resources staff participate on the national Planning Leadership Group helping to develop direction, guidance, and standards to address park planning needs.
The National Wild and Scenic Rivers System was created by Congress in 1968 to preserve certain rivers with outstanding natural, cultural, and recreational values in a free-flowing condition for the enjoyment of present and future generations.
