Teresa Atkinson has been named as the new management and program analyst for the National Park Service Division of Fire and Aviation (DFAM) at the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, ID where she recently completed a detail for the position.
Teresa came to DFAM from the Bureau of Land Management Office of Law Enforcement and Security where she most recently served as an investigative technician for the past 16 years. Working alongside the special agents and rangers, Teresa assisted with case work, investigations, search warrants, evidence collection, collaborating with federal, state, and local agencies regarding other potential threats, and general office duties. Prior to that, Teresa served over seventeen years as a government, corporate, and vacation travel specialist.
Since summer 2022, Teresa and working dog, Augie, have been training to obtain their Land Human Remains Detection (HRD) and Wilderness HRD certifications to become a cadaver team. They are working with a search and rescue team based in the Treasure Valley of Idaho to earn the team certification.
Outside of Augie, Teresa’s pride and joy are her almost four-year old twin grandboys that are a challenge to keep up with. She also enjoys gardening, baking, dog training, and helping others in need where possible. Teresa and bark ranger, transitioned to their new position as of mid-December 2023.
