Justin Kirchmeier Named as New Fire and Aviation Data Analyst

Justin Kirchmeier has been selected as the data analyst for the Division of Fire and Aviation’s Branch of Information Technology & Resource Management (ITRM). He was previously an information technology (IT) specialist - systems administrator for the branch.

Justin began his government career as a student hire (SCEP/STEP) IT specialist in 2007 while attending school full-time at ITT Technical Institute. Graduating in 2011 with his bachelor’s degree in Information System Security, he transitioned into an IT specialist – systems administrator full-time position with the Division of Fire and Aviation. Over the past decade he’s used his IT experience and knowledge to assist wildland fire incident management teams (IMT) and became a primary Incident Technology Support Specialist (ITSS) for a Type 2 Great Basin incident management team. 

Branch chief, Erik Torres-Jacquez stated, “Justin is one of the most dynamic and skilled IT specialists in the National Park Service. In his tenure with the Division, Justin has excelled at any and all projects assigned to him. He continues to be a leader, innovator, and high performer within the IT community, and I’m excited to welcome Justin into the data analyst position.”

Justin and his partner, Amber, have two children, Antonio, 17, and Jayson, 13. As an Idaho native, he enjoys taking advantage of all the activities the beautiful state has to offer, spending his time outdoors with his family mountain biking, hiking in the foothills, motorcycling, and snowboarding in the winter. When not busy with fire season in the summer, he enjoys heading up north to camp with family and friends.
