After twenty-four years in the Army and five years of retirement during which he worked on his PhD in Business, Jeff Harper was looking for a change. Harper recently moved to Boise to become the new National Park Service human resources assistant at the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) in Boise, Idaho. In his new position, he is an NPS employee, but works in a true interagency arena and will be processing HR actions for all the Department of the Interior bureaus co-located at NIFC.

“Jeff’s background and extensive experience built during his time in the military made him a great candidate for the human resources assistant position,” stated Sheila Williams, Branch Chief for Administration in the NPS Division of Fire and Aviation.

Jeff is looking forward to being part of the NIFC community, and supporting not only the National Park Service but interagency partners as well. In addition, as a long-distance hiker and outdoor enthusiast, he and his wife are looking forward to the many recreational opportunities that Boise has to offer.

Jeff began his new position on November 2, 2015.
