Hannah Jones has joined the National Park Service Division of Fire and Aviation as a budget analyst within the Branch of Budget and Administration.

She began her federal career in 2016 as a Department of Defense civilian with the United States Air Force stationed in Wichita Falls, TX. As the only civilian working alongside enlisted members, their value system and camaraderie led her to continue in federal service, which has been marked by invaluable experiences and a deepening commitment to public service. In 2018, she transitioned from the Department of Defense to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), allowing her to broaden her understanding of the diverse missions and responsibilities within the federal government.

For the past two years she has worked as a budget analyst for the Boise District of the BLM in Boise, Idaho, embracing the challenge of managing a complex financial landscape and gaining a unique insight into the critical intersection of resource allocation and wildfire management.

“We welcome Hannah to the NPS Fire and Aviation team; her knowledge and experience in budget and interagency collaboration will benefit all of NPS Wildland Fire Management,” said branch chief, Gillian Fay.

Jones noted, “Looking ahead, I am eager to continue my journey in federal service, leveraging my skills and experiences to make meaningful contributions to the National Park Service!”

Hannah currently lives in Meridian, ID with husband, Josh, and their two sons, Carter and Gavin. They enjoy an annual fishing competition, which is starting soon, biking, camping, basketball, and football - GO Vikings!
