Work Scheduled for Olympic National Park Roads: Closures and Minor Delays Anticipated Several upcoming road repair projects will improve visitor access and safety in Olympic National Park. While work is ongoing, visitors and area residents should expect some delays and temporary closures. "We recognize these projects may present an inconvenience to some of our visitors," said Olympic National Park said Superintendent Todd Suess."We ask the public for their understanding and patience. These road repair projects are needed to maintain safe access to the park. Please drive slowly and use caution when traveling in work zones." Sol Duc Road Sol Duc Road will remain open throughout the work period, but traffic will be restricted to one lane through work zones and delays of up to 30 minutes should be expected.Work is scheduled Monday through Saturday until the project is completed. This project is being managed with assistance from the Federal Highway Administration. Hurricane Hill Road The closure is scheduled for weekdays only from August 7 through 10 and August 13 through 17.The road will open to vehicle traffic on weekends and will re-open early if the work is completed ahead of schedule. Heart O' the Hills Campground and Trailhead The project is scheduled to begin on August 8 and is expected to take up to two weeks, with work only occurring on weekdays.The access road and trailhead parking lot for Lake Angeles and Heather Park trails will be closed while crews resurface the road and apply sealant.Traffic through Heart O' the Hills campground will be limited to one lane during the work period.Visitors should expect brief delays when work is occurring. Motorists are advised to drive slowly through work zones, as road materials may be loose and unstable.Motorcyclists should use extreme caution.Works zones will be signed to alert visitors to hazards.
