A search is in progress for a solo hiker from Mountlake Terrace, Washington.Tim Bailey, 32 years old, had planned a three-day loop hike from Aurora Ridge Trailhead to the North Fork of the Sol Duc. Bailey began his hike on Friday morning, August 24.He was reported overdue by his wife Sunday evening. Bailey's vehicle was located at the Aurora Ridge Trailhead Monday morning.An initial "hasty" search began on Tuesday. Today, twelve searchers from Olympic National Park, aided by a helicopter, will continue to search the area between Aurora Ridge and the North Fork of the Sol Duc. Bailey is described as athletic and a capable hiker with previous overnight experience in mountainous terrain.He is 6'1" and 160 pounds with brown eyes and hair; he has a short beard and arm band tattoos on both upper arms. The park asks that anyone who may have seen Bailey to contact park dispatch at 360-565-3000. |
