Port Angeles – Author Craig Romano will be the featured speaker for an upcoming Friends of Olympic National Park (FONP) program and membership meeting, set for Thursday, September 27 at 7:00 p.m. The program and meeting are both open to the public and will be held at the Olympic National Park Visitor Center at 3002 Mount Angeles Road in Port Angeles.
“We invite all members of the public to join us for an enjoyable and informative evening with a noted author,” said FONP President Larry Stetson. “Craig Romano is an expert on hiking in the Olympics and will offer insights and suggestions for day hikes in the park and surrounding areas.”
Craig Romano is the author of Day Hikes: Olympic Peninsula, published this past May by The Mountaineers Books. His book outlines more than 100 day hikes on the Olympic Peninsula, most of them less than 12 miles round trip. Maps, charts and information about flora, fauna and area history are also included.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase after the program by the Northwest Interpretive Association, the non-profit organization that sells educational materials at national parks and forest throughout the Pacific Northwest.
The public is also invited to join the Friends of Olympic National Park. Annual dues are:
