Park Seeks Firewood Vendor

Olympic National Park is seeking persons or groups who are interested in supplying dry firewood for the next two years in several of the park’s campgrounds, including Heart O’the Hills, Altair, Elwha and Deer Park and Mora campground. Two Commercial Use Authorizations (CUAs) will be issued; one will include the four campgrounds in the Port Angeles area while a second will cover the Mora campground.

The selected CUA holders will be required to furnish dry burnable firewood packaged for sale in one cubic foot tied bundles during the time period Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, 2008 – 2009. (This year, firewood will be required once the CUAs are finalized.) A schedule showing when wood will be available to the public must be posted at the campgrounds. The CUA holders will provide comprehensive general liability insurance against claims while carrying out the activities and operations of the permit. The CUA can be authorized for up to a two year period.
