During the week of May 12 through 16, a contractor will chipseal the lower five miles of the Hurricane Ridge Road, from its intersection with the Mt. Angeles Road to the Heart O'the Hills entrance station.

Visitors should be prepared for minor delays and are urged to use caution and drive slowly through work zones. This process requires a dry road surface and temperatures over 45 degrees Fahrenheit and may be delayed if the necessary conditions are not met.

Above Heart O'the Hills, construction contractors will begin installing underground utility conduits and vaults alongside the Hurricane Ridge Road. They will be working above the tunnels, located 3.5 miles above the Heart O’the Hills entrance station. In addition, work will begin on a new stone masonry wall at the Double Parking scenic view point (mile 6 above the entrance station).

The road is closed to bicycles above the Heart O'the Hills entrance station. Motorists should expect minor delays this week and be prepared to drive slowly through all work zones.

For more information about the Hurricane Ridge Road construction project, people should visit the Olympic National Park website.
