Marine Debris Ambassadors (MDA) is a Senior Culminating Project available to high school students in the Forks, WA area who are interested to learn more about ocean issues through a hands-on service project. This experience can also be used for a Science, English or CTE credit through the North Olympic Peninsula Skills Center Natural Resources course. MDA consists of educational coursework, field days on the coast, and a beach clean up service project, all the while working alongside professionals. This program is a natural progression of the Pathways for Youth program at Olympic National Park. Accomplished Ambassadors are on the right track to move into volunteer internships and seasonal employment with the National Park Service. |
