Flat Stanley of literary fame came to visit the park in November. He visited by way of Ms Emily Ratterree’s 3rd grade class from Hanahan Elementary in Hanahan, SC.

For those of you not familiar with Flat Stanley, third graders read a book about Stanley who gets flattened in a bulletin board accident, but that’s where his adventures begin. His family mails him to visit his cousin in California. Third graders all over the country read the book, make their own Flat Stanley, and then send him on to visit parks and interesting areas.

While at the Park, Flat Stanley, toured the park, watched our 10 minute DVD, and completed our new Jr Ranger program. You can see from the picture that he had fun and is even wearing his JR Ranger Badge.
